#483 - Tom Price Desert Classic - 12/05/2008 - The Shanty Tavern, Seattle

”Seattle guitar fixture Tom Price is a master of his instrument; you might know him from his involvement in seminal Seattle garage bands like Monkeywrench, Gas Huffer and U-Men. Those projects are defunct now (eight years later, we’re still waiting on that next Monkeywrench album), but Price has a new band, Tom Price Desert Classic…”
#482 - The MoonSpinners - 12/05/2008 - The Shanty Tavern, Seattle

"The MoonSpinners play pop music — 60s-esque of various types, girl-group, 70s punk, soul, rock’n'roll, ye-ye, and on and on…" (The Stranger, MySpace)
#481 - Bricklane - 12/05/2008 - The Shanty Tavern, Seattle

"Bricklane, a ’60s-esque psychedelic project that contains current Mudhoney bassist Guy Maddison and sounds like Johnny Cash might if he covered the Velvet Underground" (MySpace)

Laibach (2nd) - 9/22/2008 - The Showbox, Seattle
Laibach - Very nice show. They did their often pretty and ethereal but disturbing take on national anthems from Volk the first half, then came back for what I thought might be a short encore but turned out to be a pretty full set of their more industrial, martial music.

#443 - Man Plus - 6/27/2008 - Capitol Hill Vera Stage, Seattle
#442 - The Builders and the Butchers - 6/27/2008 - Neumos, Seattle
"Portland's latest contender for "next big thing" are the Builders and the Butchers. Fully embracing the Rose City's prevailing lo-fi aesthetic and love affair with all things old-timey, the band sound a bit like an Appalachian version of the Pixies. When it truly clicks, it's brilliant." The Stranger
#438 - The Cave Singers - 6/27/2008 - Capitol Hill Main Stage, Seattle
"The Cave Singers' Matador debut, Invitation Songs, is the soundtrack for summer. I listen to shaker-filled "Seeds of the Night" and starry "Helen" when I escape to the park to hike along the trails instead of the sidewalks. If the animals in the forest formed a band, this is what they'd sound like." The Stranger

#390 - Blixa Bargeld - 2/3/2006 - The Triple Door, Seattle
How To Destroy The Universe Part 5 Tour - The Festival of Extreme Music
'Bargeld's credentials as a leading light in modern creative music are impeccable: founder of Einsturzende Neubauten and guitarist with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. He blends music, theater, film and spoken word in his work. For this show, he will be performing his piece "Rede/Speech", an exploration of the boundaries of language and music in partnership with his soundman Boris Wilsdorf, utilizing microphones, effect equipment and foot pedals, monitor boxes and two loudspeakers, and a mixing panel.'
